Jun 30, 2012 · I use a z68 MoBo (Sandy bridge plat) with a 2500k. afaik Z77 and Z75's are the only boards that support IB right out of the box. I have updated my z68 BIOS myself to add the support for 22nm (Ivy Bridge).

If you don’t plan to overclock your processor and want to spend lowest possible amount on motherboard so that you could spend more money on getting a better graphics card for your gaming rig.

Jul 25, 2019 · I've heard that Ivy Bridge is backwards compatible with Sandy Bridge, and I've even seen a couple videos showing that Ivy Bridge processors can be used on Sandy Bridge motherboards. So the question is: Will my laptop be able to use an Ivy Bridge processor?

Apr 30, 2012 · I am using a P67 SLI Micro, great mobo has kept my i5 2500k stable at 4.8ghz for months. Curious if P67 will get a bios update to support ivy bridge? If so what exactly is the advantage to switch to Z77 aside from PCIe3?Thanks :)
