Feb 14, 2013 · On our end, we made sure that the HD DVD add-on for the Xbox 360 had Dolby TrueHD decoding. And first-gen Toshiba HD DVD players already have TrueHD decoders built-in. So both of us [Microsoft and Toshiba] have made TrueHD standard in our players.

The 360 is not capable of outputting Dolby True HD or DTS HD Master Audio because of dvd limitations. I'm not aware of any games that use DTS for 360 either but there may be some. In fact, when you go to the 360's audio settings menu there are only 3 options: Stereo, Dolby Digital, and WMA audio (some weird Microsoft audio format that no one uses).

Mar 29, 2017 · Dolby Digital Plus can be used to provide Atmos. DD+ has a higher bitrate compared to standard Dolby Digital and can be 7.1, but is still standard definition and not HD. DD+ is what BT currently use in association with their Atmos UHD football broadcasts. The XBox 360 S is awaiting an update that will allow it to bitstream TrueHD.

high definition sound output decoded too. for DTS-HD and Dolby Digital-HD sound. Would it be just a software/firmware upgrade to allow the xBox 360 to decode HD sound. Or will it need a Hardware and software/firmware upgarde to the console .. Or can the xBox 360 already output Dolby-HD and DTS-HD. Thanks for reading.

<cont> I have Rez as well so maybe I'll give it a try to see if it does that sound dip. I should go pick up a cheap copy of Prototype too. Why is Microsoft so afraid to embrace DTS? PCM audio sounds like crap in comparison. I was moderately happy to see Shadows Of The Damned on 360 supported Dolby Pro Logic IIz, and that sounded pretty good, but every other game in my collection is Dolby Digital.

Dec 19, 2013 · Does Xbox 1 support Dolby Digital if you plan on using your HDTV's speakers. Because with Xbox 360 it does when I push the info button on my HDTV's remote control. I do not use a home theatre system on my HDTV but have a turtle beach headset which uses Dolby but connect it to my 360 or 1's optical out port.

Mar 07, 2017 · The XBox One S cannot bitstream either DTS-HD Master Audio or Dolby TrueHD so you cannot access either DTS:X or Dolby Atmos audio if using the XBox as a player. If you take Microsoft seriously then there will in all probability be an update that facilitates bitstreaming, but when this will become a reality is something they either can't or wont answer:
