August 2, 2019 - TF2 Team. On the evening of Thursday, July 25th, a bug was introduced that allowed some older crates to grant an Unusual hat on every opening. We fixed the bug the following morning and decided to trade-lock the hats from the bugged crates while we evaluated the situation.

I've seen quite a lot of Unusual hats being granted to people by Customer Support, such as the Unusual Hat of Undeniable Wealth and Respect with Sunbeams, The Unusual Wiki Cap with Sunbeams and the Unusual Max's Severed Head with Sunbeams.
