May 26, 2009 · Try using Ati Tray Tools to underclock your card to safe levels and use lower voltages. Then when you're ready to test, up the clocks to your OC levels and select your higher voltage. Ati Tray Tools can adjust voltages in the range that is specified in your BIOS. Current stock ranges are from 0.925v to 1.3125v (1.05v and 1.1875v in between).
