Aug 20, 2013 · Thanks for checking back in Barry. I rebuilt my server and ran it on the hardware itself to get rid of the Hypervisor layer in the middle for the time being; I now have Websense 7.6 running in the same configuration you do just without the VMWare or Hyper-V component..

From “How to configure VMware to support Websense”: To see network traffic, Websense Network Agent requires a network interface card (used for monitoring) set to promiscuous mode. Websense running on VMware cannot see traffic that is mirrored from the switch. A packet capture will not show any traffic on the NIC.
