Jul 15, 2011 · E.g. vSphere 5.0 itself is not yet listed on the HCL and Mac OS X is only supported on vSphere 5.0. Once vSphere 5.0 is GA, both this product and the Apple hardware will appear. Regarding the Xserve requirement, we are aware that the Xserve was EOL'd last January by Apple. We are actively investigating Apple hardware platforms for ongoing support.

UPDATE: As of vSphere 5.1, the Apple Mac Pro is now fully supported on running on ESXi 5.1, to get more details, please take a look at this article. Mar 13, 2013 · I was more speaking about running the web client on the browsers on Mac OS X . They already confirmed that the vSphere C# Client which most people use now is end of life. The one which comes with 5.1 is the last release and this one lacks certain features like vMotion .
