Oct 08, 2017 · From what I've read about USB Printer Support and USB001 Virtual Port, they supposedly only show up after printer drivers are installed. Therein lies the rub: I can't install the drivers because they want a USB local port selected to proceed with USB installation -- there isn't one and I can't add one (yes, I tried adding it manually).

Let's say that I want to print some photos quickly, to give them to someone. I have a Windows installation in a virtual machine just for this reason (sad, I know) and I want to access my printer, which is connected via a USB port. To my surprise, I can see the printer in the USB device list of VirtualBox, but I can't access it (very frustrating).

Jan 21, 2015 · The reason that I installed VirtualBox was because Windows 7 did not support my Panasonic KX-P7100 laser printer. Hence I installed VirtualBox with Windows XP. I installed the USB print driver in Windows XP and the printer shows up under Printers and Faxes, and it is set as the default printer and lists it as ready.
