Today, many new laptops are shipping with USB3.0 ports only. Currently VirtualBox does not support USB3.0 which makes it impossible to use any USB devices with a guests OS. I use VirtualBox extensively on laptops and this has become more and more of an issue, to the point where I have had to switch to VMWare to run my guests until we catch up.

Replying to fabiop: . I wonder this right USB port is a USB 2.0 one and that is why it is the only port that works. AFAIK, it's а pretty common practice to leave one USB port version 2.0 on newer laptops, because there are some devices that don't work with USB 3.0 (e.g. one of my printers doesn't).

Hi I believe I'm seeing the same problem and only with Windows 10 (x64) host. It works fine on Windows 7. I use my old Canon scanner which only has 32 bit drivers in a VM so need to capture the USB 2.0 scanner on the VM.
