Apr 03, 2013 · Original title: Error: Your Outgoing (SMTP) server does not support SSL - connecting via Outlook 2003 to smtp.live.com SSL Port 587 . Up until ~2 weeks ago both my mother in-law and father in-law were able to connect and send mail from OL2003 using their respective msn and live accounts. They were using smtp.live.com port 25 SSL.

Feb 21, 2019 · 1. If you're using a script and you do not want to use SSL/TLS encryption you must ensure that the script is set to not connect over a secure port and use encryption 2. The mail client must be configured in a similar manner, if you do not want encryption you woudl check the plain authentication type rather than STARTTLS or SSL 3.

Jan 12, 2018 · Previously, most of the public and free servers did not support TLS but it’s not like that now. For example, Gmail’s 85%+ mail traffic is e-mail encrypted. It requires configuring the email servers with valid SSL certification to configure them with SMTP TLS. Disclaimer: If you are using Pepipost Server, we do support TLS 🙂

Strange that it only happens to SMTP...

Mar 26, 2007 · Are you running the IIS built-in SMTP-server or Exchange (or other external smpt-server)? Reason for the question is that I'm not quite sure how IIS does with the SMTP-server that's builtin when you install a server certificate for the Web server.
