Jan 20, 2010 · There will be no way to put Snow Leopard on PowerPC. Leopard was officially released for PowerPC so no one had to figure that out. The only thing I can think of is someone made a program that modified the system check in the leopard install that allowed it to be installed on computers that didn't meet the minimum system requirements of speed or RAM.

Feb 13, 2010 · There's a huge difference between merely "boosting the processor speed" and making the Snow Leopard kernel think your PowerPC is an Intel chip. Installing Leopard on older PowerPC machines wasn't so hard because Snow Leopard supported PowerPCs. The older chips still behaved in a lot of ways like the newer ones, but were just slower.

Don’t throw out that PPC Mac… Monday, June 22nd, 2009 Author: OWC Chris S.. Snow Leopard is coming and with it will be a major streamlining of the whole code base. This is a bit of a mixed blessing. This streamlining (and the addition of a number of new technologies) will allow for a reduction in size of an OS installation, while still allowing for a decent jump in speed and/or efficiency.
