I have been asked by someone if their new Dell XPS 1330 notebook with an 8400 GeForce GS 128MB video card will support multiple LCD displays. The notebook only has a single VGA port but I have found a cable splitter that might work assuming the video card can support dual displays.

Hi! I have a system running under Windows 7 64 bit and GeForce 8400 GS. The first monitor is DVI, the second is VGA. The dual monitor was fine, untill I upgraded to Windows 7. Now it starts on windows on two screens, but after going off sleep mode or screen saver it does not recognize the DVI monitor and switches to the VGA only.

I was wondering... Are either of these systems capable of running dual monitors straight out of the box? If not, what would be needed besides two monitors? Some friends suggested me that I can use a DVI splitter (or Y-cable) to connect two monitors, or I can use a HDMI-DVI adaptor to connect the 2nd monitor.

Hello all. I have the 8400 GS and am trying to use dual monitors. However I can't get the DVI to work at all. I have a CRT with a DVI input and a DVI to VGA adapter that I have tried and with either, the monitor is detected but I get no signal on the screen.

Apr 27, 2015 · I have been trying to get my dual monitor setup to work for a few days now, but I am running out of ideas. Any help on troubleshooting this issue would be greatly appreciated. My setup is the following: PCI-Express GeForce 8400 GS with DMS59 output, 2xDVI breakout cable, two DVI->VGA adapters and two analog LCD monitors connected via VGA cables.
