If you have a second monitor connected to the computer that runs Lightroom Classic, you can display the second window on that screen. When working with multiple windows, Lightroom Classic applies commands and edits to the photo or photos that are selected in the main application window regardless of what is selected in the second window.

LR claims to be "Per -Monitor Aware", that is it not only takes account of the DPI resolution of the monitor, but if there are multiple monitors it supposedly takes account of the different dpi on each monitor (rather than assuming all monitors have the same dpi). However, it doesn't seem to do that.

Internally it's not that bad: You have one more level of abstraction to open multiple windows. In a given window you have panes for window sections.

Feb 05, 2019 · Run in single monitor mode, performance is acceptable, toggle on dual monitors and performance dramatically slows down, toggle it off and performance returns to normal. Editing the same image as I go back and forth. Suspicion: Lightroom stops using the video card in dual monitor mode.
