May 06, 2012 · IOS202 enables USB 2.0 and DVD-Support (which Nintendo planed to integrate on the Wii, but cut it out in the end. Thanks to Team Twiizers, some Code was still found and made DVD-Playback possible). If you don't have that, the Wii doesn't know what to do with the Disc, and it won't work. So, install it, or leave it.

Jul 25, 2010 · Is it because it uses IOS202 instead of DVDX? Because MPlayer plays my DVDs flawlessly (it just doesn't have very good controls or even DVD menu support). If flawless DVD playback on Wii is already here (MPlayer with DVDX), and DVD menu functionality is already here too (WiiMC with IOS202), is there any reason why we can't get both in the same app?

If you're running Windows 8.1 or Windows 8.1 Pro, you can search for a DVD player app in Microsoft Store. Windows RT 8.1 doesn't support DVD movie playback.

It works as video playback does. The subtitles can be switched on and off and audio can be adjusted with D-pad up and down as well. DVD playback does not work on new Wiis with the internal drive.
