I'm working on drawing shapes in my ASP.NET web app. In IE9 and other browsers, I'm doing it with SVG, and it's working great. In IE8 and below, I'm using VML. I'm finding that IE8 does not display the VML at all when it's in IE8 Standards mode (not using compatibility view). My doctype is set to <!DOCTYPE html>.

Sep 15, 2011 · Have inserted the HTML code , which contains a div and a VML Rectangle. Alpha filter has been applied to both but it works only for Div element. Document is in IE8 standards mode. Will filters work for VML in IE8 ? or is there anything wrong in the inserted HTML ?

Everything worked (Vista, Visio 2003/2007, and IE7) until the company upgraded to Windows 7, Visio 2010, and IE9... after creating the html and selecting VML as the output, the files are created and it launches into an IE page (based on the Automatic Launch option).
