I just built a site that relies on certain Unicode characters like Ⓐ, but why doesn't Internet Explorer show these characters?. Is there some meta tag to get the browser to show it or how do you update Internet Explorer to handle these Unicode characters?

Sep 09, 2011 · What I am interested to know is if WP7.5/ IE9 support Unicode characters (UTF-8). For example IE9 on desktop could display all those different languages as long the website uses those Universal fonts. Unicode support is built into windows since Windows 95.

Feb 03, 2015 · I would expect the browser to correct decode the URI back to "C:\Test\ADés\test.xml". Instead, Internet Explorer decode the URI link using ISO-8859-1 to "C:\Test\AD é s\test.xml", ignoring whatever encoding settings Internet explorer has. Again, w hy does IE9 use ISO-8859-1 instead of UTF8 for non-ASCII characters in URIs?

May 24, 2011 · unicode UTF 8 setting in IE9 is unstable Mine is new Dell laptop with Windows home 7 home premium running IE 9- 64 bit version. As I get a lot of mails with Tamil letters, I selected UTF-8 under encoding.
