I’ve just released the version 3.1.6.3 of the Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator with qTranslate Support WordPress Plugin. Two important things have been fixed: Support for blogs without qTranslate (it won’t give fatal errors anymore) Correct naming of the plugin in the WordPress Repository (as “Google XML Sitemaps with qTranslate Support”).

Some time ago, Qian Qin, the author of qTranslate, has published what should be modified on the Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator WordPress Plugin to make it support qTranslate. However, this has never reached any of the releases of this plugin. (Qian Qin says he sent an e-mail to the author and I’ve done it myself, with no response).

Having qTranslate, multilingual WordPress plugin, installed, brings some problems – between them are slower performance and incompatibility with other plugins.It is said, that having a XML sitemap helps you climb on Google rankings. Then there's Google XML Sitemaps v3 for qTranslate, which doesn't work either, in the sense that it generates sitemaps with only one language. And there are other solutions lying around, but either they don't work, or they are for qTranslate (not qTranslate-X) and don't work anymore. Has anybody has actually managed to achieve this?

Doing some reverse engineering I found out that there is a failure inside sitemap-qtranslate.php file located at plugins/google-xml-sitemaps-v3-for-qtranslate/ directory, which makes a call from qt_permalink() function to qtrans_convertURL() when it comes to a URL in site’s non default language
