Jul 01, 2008 · So there is no real tape drive support in Win98, and apparently Seagate wrote the Microsoft Backup software, and Microsoft deflects all support requests to them. This does not inspire confidence, and it makes me wonder what kind of tape drive support is available for legacy tape drives in Win2K/WinXP/Vista.

Jun 04, 2007 · Hi Bill, Yes I did. It turns out the problem is the stinkin' BIOS on the tape drive. It is incompatable with Adaptec SCSI Cards in a UNIX environment.

Jun 15, 2002 · Windows 98 had native support for this drive, but WP does not. Also, Exabyte no longer supports this drive. I wish I could get mine to work long enough to retrive a couple of flies. Also, if you ever need to re-format the tape it'll take a few days .
