If you are using the Windows 8 Mail app, you need to use accounts that support IMAP or ExchangeActiveSync email.. If your email account doesn't support IMAP or ActiveSync, you can configure an Outlook.com account to collect your mail, then use EAS to view it in the Windows Mail app.

Apr 22, 2012 · I have seen a lot of stuff in various forums about this topic. As far as I am aware, the native mail client in Win 8 CP DOES NOT explicitly support POP3 servers. I did see a post where someone shows how to set up Hotmail to pull mail from your POP3 server. I installed Thunderbird with no problems and have all my POP3 mail in there.
