Jul 12, 2011 · Why does vmware have Microsoft clustering support? Isn't that there competition? I'm reading through the PDFs on vmwares site and it mentions in several places that vmware supports microsoft clustering in some way.

Aug 10, 2006 · Like others - i would say deviate from VMware support at your peril but EVERYONE I know puts their VMDK file (monolithic or metadata) the perils of local storage are too great... Last remember - Windows Clustering is "pants" (technical term) anyway so we maybe looking at the wrong end of the telescope! Regards. Mike

Re: Microsoft Clustering support issues citrix_guy Oct 12, 2006 1:13 PM ( in response to snowfresh ) A lot of this is dictated by Microsoft's definitions of supported cluster configurations. if you read their supported configs (made for physical machines) they state things that you are seeing here.

Jan 20, 2011 · One thing i find most people forget is when creating the virtual machine to tick the box that says its going to be for clustering or fault tolerance but If you have followed the MSCS setup for vmware side to the letter could be a OS issue Are you using windows 2008? if you open up disk management does it say reserved on the cluster disks?
