Oct 01, 2015 · Vista may not know about homegroups, but Windows 7 and later can certainly understand Vista/XP style file sharing. You should not need any additional software. Just set up sharing as if they were both Vista machines. (I don't have a Vista machine, but I can share files between Win 10 and XP this way).
