The number of DSP recipients at the end of June 2010 was 792 581 (which had grown slightly to 793 336 by March 2011). The growth rate of recipients from end-June 2009 to 2010 was 4.7 per cent. The growth rate in recipients has accelerated since 2007 — the growth in numbers was 2.5 per cent from 2004 to 2007, and 11 per cent from 2007 to 2010.
