Dec 28, 2012 · After checking charts on the Internet, it appears from the data that an SSD is going to deliver much better performance regardless of motherboard II or III. My main board is SATA II, but the charts showed significant performance gains even if I install a SATA III drive at 6GB and I’m only accessing 3GB speeds. For me, only an experiment.

Since SATA 3 is not mentioned in the system specs for the XPS 435MT then most likely it only has SATA 2 (3Gb/s) ports. To get additional info on your motherboard, download and run CPU-Z from CPUID.com. Click on the "Mainboard" tab and it will give you info on your motherboard.
