ASUS tech support took 3-4 days to tell me the original replacement I found does not support SATA Port Multiplication after originally telling me that it did support it (Only the top drive in the bay is detected if the motherboard does not support port multiplication)4.4/5(14)

Granted, that means your motherboard and port multiplier costs are $500+ in that scenario, but it is still a very interesting idea for some applications.
