Because I have the Amazon instant video too and I never used it on there. Hulu Plus does not work either. I seriously recommend the Roku over the Boxee. It has netflix, hulu plus, amazon instant video, hbo go, it has everything. Boxee was good if you are going to be doing a lot of network file sharing in your house. But if not the Roku is simple, cheaper, and better in my opinion.

Apr 05, 2013 · I love the Boxee apps, but the one big one missing is Amazon Video (no, I don't work for Amazon and this is not a plug). I subscribe to Prime and have the video app on my Panasonic Bluray player. It would be a great addition to the Boxee as it competes directly with Vudu and is priced better for rentals - I'd also get more movies with Prime.3.1/5(1.1K)

I've started replaceing my Boxee Boxes with nVidia ShieldTV (16GB version) boxes, but for Amazon Prime Instant Video, I was using PlayOn/Playlater and bought the Lifetime License, but this requires a separate PC running windows. It does have a trial feature before you have to buy it.
