Nov 29, 2007 · It's now confirmed by NVIDIA what's up with 680i motherboards supporting the new quad core Yorkfield processors: The (680i) MCP fully supports both dual core Wolfdale and quad core Yorkfield, but at the board level, a motherboard circuit change is required for quad core YF.

Dec 12, 2007 · Nvidia 680 MBd's do not support Intel Penryn Yorkfield and Wolfdale cpu's, 680MBd's 1 / 2 There is a serious problem for NVidia 680 Motherboards owners; no Penryn processors (Yorkfield 4-core & Wolfdale 2-core) are supported by any NVidia motherboards.

Aug 14, 2007 · The performance of this part is expected to be between a GeForce 8600 GTS and an 8800 GTS. nVidia C72 chipset for Intel CPUs is expected to be released in November. C72 is expected to support the 45nm Yorkfield and Wolfdale processors and will feature support for a 1333FSB, DDR2-1066/800 and PCI Express 2.0.

Oct 10, 2012 · They refused an SLI license to Intel for use on their own Intel chipset based boards, Intel responded by making it more difficult for nvidia on the Intel platform, apparently modified the ES yorkfield core, not disclosing full details of the yorkfield core needed by nvidia for fuly stable operation on nvidia boards, you can't do much if Intel doesn't fully disclose these details.

Oct 29, 2007 · The 680i SLI, 680i LT SLI, GeForce 7150, and GeForce 7100 chipsets officially support Wolfdale and Yorkfield. The 650i SLI and GeForce 7050 chipsets will support these processors, but it seems as if that will be a supplier to supplier decision at this time.Author: Gary Key

Jan 02, 2008 · It seems the EVGA 680i SLI MB will not be supporting the Yorkfield quad as previously advertised. I am extremely disappointed with this, as are many others. I guess this is more of a warning than a question, but I'd like to hear what everyone thinks about it.
