Jun 26, 2013 · Suppose you have created a sketch on XY plane and applied the pad or whatever command to make it solid ,Later on you realized that the part's sketch should be in ZX plane , Then you can just change the sketch support from XY plane to ZX plane ,and your problem is resolved.

Jul 11, 2006 · Basically, positioned sketches are for modifying the location and orientation of the sketch, without getting into transformations, or modifying any sketch parameters.
