Aug 18, 2013 · Eventhough this thread is old, it is the first thread that comes up when googling for 'configure: error: cannot find net-snmp support'. So I thought I would add what I did to resolve the issue for anyone who may hit this thread with the same problem. I found that the net-snmp-devel had to also be installed when setting up on CentOS So try

NET-SNMP Tutorial -- Using local MIBs. The net-snmp tools can translate numeric object identifies (OIDs) into textual object identifiers using the MIB description files. The net-snmp toolkit provides a few of the standard MIBs, but certainly doesn't contain all the MIBs known to man.

Net-SNMP

    http://www.net-snmp.org/FAQ.html
The most visible change from the 4.2.x UCD suite to the 5.x Net-SNMP releases was a restructuring of the header file organisation - not least a change from <ucd-snmp/xxx.h> to <net-snmp/yyy.h>. But given the maturity of the Net-SNMP code, this should be less of a consideration for most current SNMP development projects.

Jul 01, 2013 · SNMP is the Simple Network Management Protocol. You'll find it on the more expensive routers, switches, and gadgets. It can allow you to keep an eye on various machines with tools like Nagios and Cacti. Watch for spikes of network activity, see how much memory is used in a day's time, or do some customization and compare spams to hams.

apache - PHP SNMP - Cannot find module - Stack Overflow

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/16467712/php-snmp-cannot-find-module
Stumbled upon this migrating older Cacti to Ubuntu 16. In Ubuntu/Debian package php-snmp depends on php7.0-snmp, neither of which come with MIBs or depend on snmp-mibs-downloader, hence SNMP module ends up being defunct with no MIBs available.. What you should do is install snmp-mibs-downloader (or equivalent) and let it download all available MIBs and see if that helps.
