Dec 30, 2009 · I built a new computer and while waiting on the hard drive and windows 7 to come in I'm using my old hard drive with windows xp. When I check windows it says I only have 2.6gigs of ram when I have 6gigs of ddr3 ram. My old set up had 4 gigs of ddr ram and windows xp found that fine. Some guy told me that he loves Windows XP but with DDR2/DDR3 ram he hates it because he claims it doesn't work well with Windows XP. Now, this is something that seems plausible to me because the times I have installed Windows XP on my DDR2/DDR3 computers it's unstable; crashes a lot.

Jul 18, 2015 · My PC manufacturer tech support told me Windows 10 will only run on DDR 3 boards or higher but I don't see no mention of this on the Windows website; they said I can still run Windows 10 on a DDR2 board but it will be slow and most of the software from Windows 10 won't be able to run or function correctly.
