As long as the local link on the cable modem remains the same everything will work. Normally you should get assigned a ipv6 network but I am assuming a residential customer will not get the /64 assigned. They will give you one address for IPV6. Arris, according to Comcast, has the best IPv6 implementation for CMTS's and their cable modems. I have an Arris WBM760A and it's got great performance for me. Others have Motorola SURFboard SB6121 working without issue.
