Mar 01, 2011 · Hi and welcome to the forum Your English is actually very good - I can understand you perfectly Your probably right , because the motherboard supports socket 478 with 533 FSB CPU's (Like the P4 Northwood Core ones) its probably just the microcode for the "Intel P4-Celeron D 340 2.93G" that isnt in the bios.

Nov 11, 2007 · I was able to open the Dell bios, but I didn't find it. At Award bioses I know how to add the cpuid, but at AMI and Phoenix I don't. The tool cpuz is able to read the cpu ID. I have to research some more, but this time I think I cannot help you. I'll reply to you again if there are some news about. I would ask Asus for a bios update. Yen

Nov 10, 2011 · Different motherboard manufactures use different beep codes to diagnose problems. You can use these codes to diagnose why your computer may not be starting. If you don't know your motherboard manufacturer you can look at your screen when it first starts and it should tell you or you can try using the standard IBM codes.

Anyway, after booting up with the AMI in the Main BIOS and the old AWARD in the Backup BIOS, i was able to see only the AWARD to POSTing up then restoring, so i'm quite positive that at this point the AMI did not just do anything at all, but first it (as Main BIOS) was checked by the Backup BIOS (AWARD) for it's checksum, and in the AWARD way.
