Jan 01, 2003 · The 5500 has very few differences from last year's developer model, the SL-5000D. The 5500 comes with Hancom Office, a better metal and plastic stylus and a better AC adapter. Although the Zaurus doesn't have a built-in microphone, the die-hard hardware modification crew can build one in (see Resources).

I think the Zaurus is a great little machine: it runs like a charm and it's easy to port non-GUI software to it. The packaging system works great. The expansion slots and support for CF-based hardware is great. But I think the system is really held back by its UI.1/5(103)

The current 2.6.28 kernel I'm using has support for the ext4 filesystem, build-in support for Android, and I'll try to incorporate CPU Frequency scaling as well, so we can overclock the CPU and try to fry an egg on our Zaurus ;-) I guess I have to sit through another series of kernel debugging session before this kernel is ready for release.

Any recent cell phone (like the Siemens S35) will be fine. On your Zaurus, now launch Settings --> Beam receive application and watch your data being received to the new handheld.
