So your 6500 end needs to be multimode fiber (MMF) type. You Xenpak LX4 meets the mode type criterion but not the wavelength criterion. It is a transceiver module for MMF, 1310-nm wavelength, SC duplex connector. One end being 850-nm and the other being 1310-nm means they will not establish link and are incompatible.

Oct 22, 2015 · SFP+ requires LC connector, the X2 may require an SC connector.Using two fibers with LC-SC terminations solve the issue.(LC connector on one fiber end, SC connector on the other fiber end). You just need the correct optic on each side. Also, if your optics are Single mode you need single mode patch cord.
