Jul 29, 2018 · Xbox One X MKV H.265 Support Issues My Xbox One X consoles cannot play H.265 media content. It doesn't matter which app I use -- Kodi, VLC, etc. -- none of them will play. I have my content loaded onto a USB 3.0 external HDD, and everything but H.265 files work. (The content plays fine on my old laptop.)
