vRangerPro 4.x supports only CIFS and SFTP targets as Repositories, not NFS (yet). You are correct, to perform Fibre-based backups, you need to have a physical vRanger machine, configured with an HBA/iSCSI adapter, with a SAN lun presented to it as a local, NTFS-formatted volume (with drive letter assigned).This drive is then configured as your vRanger Repository.
