Dec 29, 2005 · given that there is a lot of work currently on going in moving xbmc to make use of the newer mplayer 1.0pre5 it should be more than possible to get this to work. as far as my understanding of it goes, 1.0pre5 already should completely support rtsp streaming of realmedia files natively and i believe that rtsp/rtp should also be feasible with the inclusion of the live.com library for mplayer.
