Simple question, can I buy a cargo bay life support system for a non-TP class ship? During the early game I enjoy just mapping the universe with a super speedy scout ship, equipped with Triplex scanners, while pottering around doing what I can where I can.

The easiest place to find Cargo Lifesupport System is at pirate bases. You can also buy it at a few Teladi trading stations, and some Terran bases. Note: Passenger transports (TP class ships) normally have Cargo Lifesupport System built-in.
