Simple question, can I buy a cargo bay life support system for a non-TP class ship? During the early game I enjoy just mapping the universe with a super speedy scout ship, equipped with Triplex scanners, while pottering around doing what I can where I can.

If you sell the Merc in Humble Merchant you can also get a Mineral Scanner and do those mission in the Disco. A drawback to Humble Merchant is that you are a long way from the nearest Cargo Life Support System, so passenger transports will have to wait until you have a TP, or else you have to journey a long way to get a CLSS.
