Gigabit Ethernet interfaces are now common on PCs, NAS devices, switches and routers. I believe there are vendors excluding Linksys who offer Jumbo Frame support for home routers. If I plug in straight to my ONT bypassing the router, my speed is right at 1gb with my NIC set to JF. Using the router, it goes down by half.
