Like 1/8" rope, this size easily fits through center and end insulator mounting holes and the break strength is much greater than 14 gage copper wire or 16 gage copper clad steel wire (copperweld) Polyester is the best choice for antenna support rope or any outside application where strength, less stretch, UV and abrasion resistance is important.5/5(4)

The antenna is pulled into the air with the antenna support rope. The free end of that rope is tied off near the ground. Usually, the 'antenna support rope' is smaller than the pulley support rope (the one in the tree). Done this way, as the antenna moves in the wind, …

Using a heavy (5/16 or greater) rope, I install a loop in each tree that will support the ends of my antenna. The loop is tossed over the support branch and is joned at a welded stainless ring of approximately 1 inch ID, 1/4 inch wire diameter. Mcmaster part 3769T74 or similar. a smaller ring would probably be fine.

remember to modify your expectations depending upon the height that you place the antenna. Getting the lowest wire at least 1/2-wavelength above ground is best, although lower heights for that wire will work. However, if that wire will be under 1/4-wavelength above ground, you may be better off with a simple broadside doublet at the upper level.

Antenna Tensioner About Tensioners

    http://antennatensioner.com/drupal/wire-tensioner
A wire Antenna Tensioner is a high quality variable tensioning device that absorbs the shock on amateur radio antennas when the support trees sway in the wind. It is simple to install, camouflaged, and is designed to control wire tension and minimize antenna sag. Because the Tensioner is spring loaded the tensioning energy is at the tree top.

Good wire for wire antenna? - Amateur Radio Stack Exchange

    https://ham.stackexchange.com/questions/140/good-wire-for-wire-antenna
There are two properties you care about for antenna wire: 1) Will it conduct well 2) Can it support its own weight. Due to skin effect, cost, conductivity, etc., the best material for conduction is copper. The best material to support its own weight is steel. You can use a large gauge (say, 14 …

The antenna may also be deployed as a sloper with the Bullet matching unit at the top (best) with the wire sloping toward the ground (with the end high enough to avoid contact by humans or animals), or at the bottom of the sloper with the antenna wire rising to a higher point. Typical installations are shown below: Antenna Length Modifications
