Can Windows 7 do software RAID 10 (or RAID 1+0 depending on terminology)? There appears to be a lack of information about software RAID for Microsoft Windows products. Even a search of the microsoft.com offers zero articles about the subject, just a few forum posts.

Jun 26, 2010 · After configuring the RAID, you can install Windows 7. During the Windows 7 installation, Windows 7 will install the built-in RAID driver. If the built-in RAID driver is incompatible, Windows 7 installation will not recognize the RAID configuration. If this is the case, you will need to install the RAID driver via external hard drive.

In Windows they don’t call their RAID options by the traditional 0, 1, 5, 10 etc. Instead they use spanned, striped, and mirrored as the options for creating software RAIDs. I thought it was a windows 10 1903 build issue however my system was still on 1809. The problem was at the BIOS level. Some how either through a BIOS update or a dead battery the BIOS storage configuration changed from RAID to IDE. Without RAID enabled in the BIOS the RST drivers will not install.
