Aug 25, 2006 · Thing is. I CAN boot from the Win98 CD but when I start the installationsequence it sais it can't find the CD drivers when trying to install them, and then it quits. Same thing if I just run the floppy boot disk and try to start with CD-rom support. I believe that's beacause it tryes to install drivers for a IDE driver. But I don't really know.

Making a Win98 bootdisk ... If you happen to read this whole file you'll notice it doesn't say anything about providing CD-ROM support. Trust me, it does. This boot disk will not be the same as a START UP DISK that you can create either during the install of Win98 of after Win98 is installed.

Hello Thanks for the support. I downloaded the bootdisk and updated fdisk to a floppy drive on a different PC. I then used HP Drive Key Boot Utility to create the disk image file on the USB stick.
