If all links in the diagram are L2 links, then RT3 would receive the inter-area routes. If the link between RT1 and RT2 was changed to a Level 1, then RT3 would NOT receive the inter-area routes. If this is true, then response F from above is only sometimes true which would then make sense to me as to why it wasn't a correct answer. Gary,

Mar 21, 2003 · This command is useful only if IS-IS is running in OSI mode. It does not display any routes if IS-IS is running only in IP mode; in this case, the command output indicates that you should use the show isis topology command instead.

May 15, 2016 · The lines above are a copy from the Cisco E-learning for Design. It states "show protocols isis" is a bona fide command, but that does not work on my ios 15.2 router, nor is it in the Cisco IOS Configuration Fundamentals Command Reference web page.
