Comments on: Remote desktop does not support colour depth 24; falling back to 16 I wonder what version you're using, as my manpage clearly states that -a "sets a colour depth for the connection (8, 15, 16, 24 or 32)" and that -P can be used to set a 40MB disk space cache for "32-bit colour sessions".

I'm using the MS Remote Desktop Connection Manager - although I'm pretty certain that just leverages the current MSTSC client. Windows 7SP1 Workstation. Shell Version 6.2.9200 Control Version 6.2.9200 Remote Desktop Protocol 8.0 Supported (in the help-about of mstsc)

Jul 03, 2007 · I don't know what VPC is doing. I do know that the bit-depth limitation is there if you install XP on a physical machine. And the Remote Desktop client that ships with XP doesn't support more than 24-bit color anyway (although Windows Update will install a newer version that ships with Vista that does support 32-bit color).

Aug 09, 2017 · I am pushing out remote desktop icons through Group Policy. It's working great, But I need to get rid of the Connection warning below. How can I get rid of it? I do not want to get a thousand calls from users asking me what this is. Whats an easy way to get rid of this message on a ton of pc's? It is for connecting to our Terminal Server
