Mar 18, 2011 · Any idea why my newly installed VMWare Player is not showing any Wireless connection or any icon for wireless connection ? In fact, if I connect my wired USB modem up to use the internet, I need to disable the wired modem on my actual machine before my VM can connect it. I suppose for a wired modem, it can only work on one machine at a time.

Apr 22, 2007 · I have a PCMCIA card for wireless 3G internet (dial up, dynamic IP) that works only in Windows, not in Linux. So I would like to be able to use it in XP guest machine since I can not use it in Linux host. Does VMware Workstation support PCMCIA cards at all? Thanks.

While pressing Ctrl key, select both your wireless and recently created local loop network. right click on it and create the bridge. Now in virtual network editor in vmware, select the network with type "Bridged" and change Bridged to option to the recently created bridge. You will then have access to network via wifi card.

Nov 23, 2015 · If your wireless card is PCI, then I’d say you should add a second NIC to your VMware config and have it link directly to your wifi card. If you are using a USB wireless card, ensure you have actually directed VMWare to Connect (disconnect from host) the device to the VM. This is usually NOT automatically done, unless you have specifically directed VMware to always connect USB devices.

Ensure Bridged is checked and in the drop down menu select your wireless network card. You can then press OK and from now on VMware Player will automatically bridge your wireless network card when in bridged mode, thus giving you full wireless connectivity from your VM!
