Edge does not currently support IPv6. Virtual machines that communicate on the same directly attached vApp or organization virtual datacenter network can use IPv6.

It means internal or external interfaces of the Edges need to have IPv4 addresses. vCloud Director relies for network services on vCloud Networking and Security (vCNS) or NSX components. vCNS does not support IPv6 however NSX does. vCNS will soon go out of support anyway.
