Apr 22, 2007 · I have a PCMCIA card for wireless 3G internet (dial up, dynamic IP) that works only in Windows, not in Linux. So I would like to be able to use it in XP guest machine since I can not use it in Linux host. Does VMware Workstation support PCMCIA cards at all? Thanks.

My company is a hardware manufacturing company and they need direct access to pcmcia hardware for development purposes. At this point, only a couple of my engineers will be able to use your product as the rest are the hardware engineers.

Apr 10, 2008 · VBox doesn't directly support PCMCIA from the host, but it does support USB and USB to PCMCIA adapters do exist. I won't guarantee that'll work since USB support isn't 100% yet, but it just might do the trick for you if you can get it installed and working under 98.

May 05, 2009 · PCMCIA is a very specialized case. I'm not aware of any virtualization software that virtualizes access to a PCMCIA port. Hyper-V and VMWare ESX support very moving virtual machines (Hyper-V only in BETA at this point) from host to host without taking the guest OS off-line.
