However, consider the following before deploying Oracle system on VMWare: Oracle Corporation does support their products on VMware, but does not certify them. The difference is that in the case of support, Oracle will try to fix the bug/problem and will do so if the bug is known.

I wanted to try 11g out since management may consider upgrading our old oracle databases to 11g instead of 10g. I wanted to try it at home to learn more about 11g.
