May 18, 2010 · How does VMware Player support 3D and DirectX features? I need to run some multiplayer game servers (like Flight Simulator and similars) on a virtual machine. Does VMware Player support 3D features even if it is installed on a server with a physical display device which does not support 3D features? Thank you very miuch for your help! Bye.

Feb 22, 2017 · All I read on VMWare Homepage it says WS 12 Pro can use DirectX 10, not 10.1. It would have saved me a long time trying and searching for clues. Compare VMware Workstation 11 to VMware Workstation 9 and 10 and VMware Player Pro VMware United Kingdom Is there another older VMWare Workstation version capable of 3D, with DirectX 10 (not 10.1) ?

Aug 08, 2014 · I am using VMware Player to run a virtual machine on my desktop, and have successfully created one from a VHD file that contains a system disk image. I now wish to add a data disk image that is a VHDX file - it is too large for a VHD image - but VMware Player does not recognise this. Does anyone know if VMware Player Plus will accept such an image?

Aug 25, 2015 · I have installed Windows 10 in a VMWare guest and I am increasingly meeting instances of there being a requirement to run Direct X 11 and VMWare only gives Direct X 9 support. I realise that I will not get an answer to 'when', but unless VMWare improves support in this area it will become impossible to fully utilise Windows 10 as a vm guest.

Are there plans to support DirectX 11 in the future? VMware, from what I can tell, only supports up to DirectX 10 in Windows guests running on the emulated graphics (no GPU pass-through). ...
