There's plenty for IDE, SATA, RAID, NIC, etc. Called VMware support and they refused to help me since I paid for "subscription support" not "technical support" (BS if you ask me).

Mar 21, 2018 · I set up VMWare Workstation (free) at home this weekend, and have a Windows 7 Pro VM installed. That's all running quite well. The one limitation that I've run into is that I can't pass my GPU on my host through to the guest VM, so any graphical stuff on the VM is handled by my CPU.

VMware vSphere has had PCI passthrough since .. yonks (VI 3.x times, which is like 10 years ago) So VMware has the knowledge in house, although on a different platform. So frankly I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to arrive on the desktop platform. Also as it is, VMware pretty much never talks about new features and timelines in public.
