I'm very excited that VS 2013 includes built in support for Git, but I'm having some trouble getting it to work correctly. I have authentication set up to my own private installation of Gitlab using an SSH key, but I don't see anywhere in Visual Studio 2013 to specify this SSH key.

Visual Studio 2013’s Git support has been separated from this older feature, and the result is a much better fit between Studio and Git. To locate the feature, open a project that’s controlled by Git (or just git init an existing project), and select View > Team Explorer from the menu.

Jun 12, 2017 · In addition we still use the old VS 2013. So far so god/bad. I'm currently trying to get the git server integrated into VS as the VS internal source control. Due to the fact that VS 2013 allows only one source control solution I need to use additional tools to run git and TFS control in parallel, as realized in newer VS versions.

The plug-in allows to publish/clone from a shared Git repository, but is currently limited to repositories that support the http/https protocol.
